Barron Grier is an "AV" rated trial lawyer with 37 years of litigation experience, following in the tradition of his father, Barron Grier Junior, and his grandfather, Barron Grier Senior. He practices primarily in insurance defense matters with particular focus on construction defects and general litigation. His practice also includes toxic torts, insurance coverage, and administrative proceedings in professional grievance and disciplinary matters for physicians, dentists, nurses, and attorneys. He is also a certified mediator and arbitrator in state and federal courts. He has served on many Bar boards and committees. He was former president of the S.C. Defense Trial Attorneys Association, and 2006 president of American Board of Trial Advocates (S.C. Chapter). He was previously a partner in Nelson, Mullins, Grier & Scarborough (1969-1974) and Richardson, Plowden, Grier & Howser (1974-1996). He founded the Grier Law Firm in 1996 and has added three attorneys who have extensive trial and appellate experience with varying specialties and talents.
