Lauri Soles Darwin began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable C. Tolbert
Goolsby, Jr. at the South Carolina Court of Appeals. She then went on to
become an Assistant Attorney General at the South Carolina Attorney General's
office where she primarily handled federal habeas corpus matters, several of
which she argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond,
Virginia. As part of her duties during her five years at the Attorney
General's office, she also argued numerous cases before the Supreme Court of
South Carolina.
